The Sargachi Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama runs a Primary Teacher’s Training Institute for 60 (sixty) deputed teachers and 60 (sixty) fresh candidates, in a separate campus, adjacent to the Ashrama. The PTTI was started in the year
1958. It is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Primary Education and is sponsored by the Government of West Bengal. The institute is fully residential in nature for all the trainees and employees. The course conducted for Teacher Training is of one year duration and a two-year course is in the offing. We have one administrative block, five blocks of hostel and fourteen staff quarters, surrounded by nature’s green. The campus have a separate library, a laboratory and an art room for the inmates. We also have a play ground inside the Ashrama Campus. Only the male candidates, sponsored by the west Bengal Board of Primary Education and District Primary School Council, Murshidabad, having good result in the Secondary Examination, are admitted here. We always make effort for implementing ‘Man making and character building’ ideas education as pronounced by Swami Vivekananda. The institute has made an excellent tradition of good results over the year. After successful completion of the training course, all the deputed teachers go to their own schools and most of the freshers are absorbed in the primary schools.
